Workshop #1: Egyptian Cabaret Workshop with Angelia
Friday, August 14, 2026, 6:00pm-9:00pm 3 HOURS!
Join Angelia for a fun, high-energy workshop learning an Egyptian Cabaret dance!
In this exciting workshop, you’ll learn a vibrant drum choreography featuring dynamic isolations, expressive traveling steps, and Egyptian cabaret movement. Whether you’re looking to challenge yourself or simply enjoy the energy of dancing to the drum, this workshop offers something for everyone. Belly dancing since 1998, Angelia specializes in Egyptian Cabaret and is an instructor with the Desert Journey School of Dance.
Dancers of all experience levels are welcome! Participants will also have the opportunity to perform the choreography the following day at the festival, making this a fun and rewarding festival experience. (Performing is optional).

Workshop #2: Contemporary/Modern Dance Workshop
Sunday, August 16, 2026, 10:30pm-12:00pm
Ricci Phillips Galvan, the owner and director of The Movement Dance Center, will be sharing her knowledge of dance with techniques and movement that will support dancers across dance styles. Ricci is an instructor, performer, coach and choreographer, winning several awards and championships. Her mission is to share her love and passion of dance to her community and to bring joy to others through movement. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity!
Workshop #3: The Neuroscience of Dance in Story Telling
with Aaliyah Jenny
Sunday, August 16, 2026, 12:30pm-2:00pm
This workshop explores the why and how understanding neuroscience in dance helps you tell your best story yet. Whether you are a teacher and/or a student, you will learn how you can learn easier and teach better. Please bring a notebook, pen, a phone with a working camera and an open mind.
Under the moniker Aaliyah Jenny, Jenny C Cohen is a multi-time award-winning performer who also is an embodiment and visibility expert. She blends nervous system recalibration, movement, and identity transformation to help women stop adapting to everyone else’s expectations and start leading from their own truth. With a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from Boston University and board certification in Integrative Neurosomatic Practice, Jenny C. Cohen combines neuroscience, embodiment, movement, and identity transformation to help women build self-trust, make aligned decisions, and lead without self-abandonment.

Workshop #4: African Dance with Rosie
Sunday, August 16, 2026, 2:30pm-4:00pm
Come learn Guinea West African Dance with Rosie of WOFA Dance, SLC. Learn about this style of African dance, the techniques and movements to *live* drums! What an amazing opportunity!
Rosie Banchero holds a B.F.A. degree in modern dance from the University of Utah. Rosie has choreographed and performed professionally for years in Utah. She traveled to Africa many times to study African movement and music. She teaches African dance at the University of Utah, Utah Valley University, and The Rose Wagner Community School.
